In addition to the Acherkogel and Ochsengarten cable cars, 15 other cable car facilities transport winter sports enthusiasts through the ski area without long waiting times. Guests can look forward to plenty of sunshine during their skiing holiday in Hochoetz, as it is one of the five sunniest ski areas in Austria with an average of 71 sunny days per season.
The ski mountain scores points for its manageable size and impresses with its varied runs, family slopes, a permanent race track, the Skiline altitude chart, the two viewpoints Zugspitzblick and Rotes Wandl, and the practice area for the little ones.
The range of secure and excellently marked snowshoe trails away from the slopes is unique. Equipment can be conveniently hired at the mountain station. Then it's off along the marked trails on various routes into the terrain.
You will encounter the mascot WIDI in several places: in WIDI's Fun Park, where young freestylers romp around, at WIDI's Rally, the Pistentipp Parcours and the Wildtierparcours.
In WIDIVERSUM – WIDI's play and slide park for families – a new short conveyor belt (WIDIBAND) will be available for young aspiring skiers in the 24/25 winter season. This is the perfect way to practise skiing for the first time. A long conveyor belt awaits beginners at the Ötzilift. The new Ötziband comfortably transports newcomers uphill.
The connecting slope from the Balbach area to Ochsengarten is a black run for ambitious winter sports enthusiasts.
The most characteristic peak in the Hochoetz skiing region is the 2,200-metre-high Brunnenkopf. The popu-lar descent no. 2 bears its name and offers a particularly beautiful mountain panorama. Skiing here is a great experience for the whole family.
