Between 18th November 2023 and the 28th January 2024 you can discover the tradition of taking a stroll in a new colourful form. In the historic park of the state gardens, the Hofgarten, in the centre of Innsbruck, there are illuminated mythical natural spirits, interactive light installations, magical light images and much more on historic walls waiting for you.

Created in the 15th and 16th Centuries as a Renaissance garden, the Innsbruck Hofgarten in its wintry clothes, is the perfect “stage” for artistic installations. Here, the sparkling lights combine with exquisite sounds to create a stunning symphony.
Let yourself be enchanted by a walk together through the magical world of light, as the light park perfectly complements the urban alpine offer during Advent time and the New Year.
Six of the themes are based on the history of the Hofgarten - from the historic pleasure garden of the archdukes, to the zoo which was home of the imperial “menagerie”, to the garden surrounding the long-forgotten Ruhelust Castle - and will invite you to stroll along the 1-km-long circular trail.
In the midst of the magical mythical creatures and glowing installations, immersed in celestial sounds and the winter nocturnal nature of the extraordinary park landscape, providing a contrast to the mountain scenery that surrounds Innsbruck, you will be enchanted during your visit. Discover more than 300 light objects: Cute forest creatures, along with majestic deer and lions, geometric shapes interact with musically synchronised light effects and interactive video projections and line the picturesque circular trail.
