Tirol Panorama with Kaiserjägermuseum

Museum ensemble at Bergisel

The Bergisel is probably the most historic place in Innsbruck. It was here that the famous freedom fighter Andreas Hofer led the legendary battle of Bergisel more than 200 years ago.

Giant circular painting

Nowhere else is the Tyrolean freedom fight presented more elaborately than here. The 360-degree view gives the impres-sion of being right in the middle of the action. In 1896, the painting was created, which serves a documentary purpose.

Schauplatz Tyrol

The "Schauplatz Tirol" exhibition features a large number of interesting objects. Visitors can participate in the history of Tyrol and gain insight into the history of the Emperor’s shooters in a separate exhibition area. For illustration purposes, exhibits from the holdings of the Tyrolean Kaiserschützenmuseum were made available.

Kaiserjägermuseum

A special feature is the Kaiserjägermuseum. It is a "museum within a museum" as it is connected to the TIROL PANORAMA via underground connections. As a regiment museum of the Tyrolean Imperial Hunters, it provides insight into the military history of Tyrol from the 18th to the 20th century. Tyrol’s European present can be experienced interactively in the "Europaraum".

Myth Tyrol

Today, the world-famous ski jump designed by Zaha Hadid is located on the Bergisel. It is a popular sight in Innsbruck and can be easily combined with a visit to the Bergisel museum ensemble. With the SKI plus CITY Pass Stubai Innsbruck, admis-sion to the sights on the Bergisel is free.

The TIROL PANORAMA with Kaiserjägermuseum hosts the 1,000 m² giant circular painting, which shows the Tyrolean freedom fight of 1809 in a fascinating panoramic view. It illuminates the "Myth of Tyrol" in all its facets. In addition to the giant circular painting, exhibits tell bizarre stories about people, their religion, politics, and nature in Tyrol. In addition to the attractions, the Bergisel also captivates with its outstanding view of Innsbruck and the Innsbruck Nordkette.
